Fan Focus: Ben Fuller

General Info

Name: Ben Fuller (Ganondorf)
Location: Utah, USA

Ben has had a really great idea with his stories by doing crossovers of Link meeting all different kinds of videogame characters. Crossover works although numerous are quite a rare breed as it can be hard to combine different videogame worlds together. I look forward to what new characters he'll get Link to meet in the future. I really hope he does 'Link Meets Luigi' (my favourite all-time videogame hero!).

  • Quick Q&A

    1. So most importantly, how did you get into the Legend of Zelda?

When my eyes first layed upon the game, Ocarina of Time, I thought it looked so cool when i played it. I came addicted to the series.

    2. And what's your favourite game in the series?

    Ocarina of Time.

    3. Why did you choose The Legend of Zelda to devote so much of your creative energy to?

When I first saw A Very Merry Christmas by Mallard, I thought that it would be cool to get typing on the start of my own series, Link meets whoever, publishing it to the internet, and seeing what reviews I get to see if people really like my own works.

    4. What are the main influences for your work?

I thought that if Link would meet another person (from another game), I ask my self, what kind of conflicts would they have? What kind of new enemies Link would have to defeat? Would Link make friends with the new guy or enemies?

    5. What is your favourite piece of work you've done, and why?

I would have to say, Link meets Spartan. I think it is just so original that Link wouldn't know what to do with Master Chief's advanced weapons, language, or even vehicles for that matter. Link is just the kind of guy who wouldn't know how to use that sort of stuff.

    6. Who is your favourite character to write/draw, and why?

The crossover characters, I love how I can make them say everything that is implied to them and how they are confused what land they are in.

    7. Are there any fan writers/artists that you admire?

Yeah there is one, Karl H.

    8. How did you find North Castle?

Oh gosh, its been so long, I think I found it when I was surfing the web at school in Jr. High for Legend of Zelda stories.

    9. Why did you decide to post your work at North Castle?

It is the place where I can get my works out to the world and have readers review my work so that I can be better at writing stories.

    10. Finally, any plans for the future regarding your work?

Yeah I am going to type 4 more stories and be done with them. Then I am going to ask Nintendo and all the companies of the characters I used. If I get their permission to use them I can use their characters and publish all of my works into one huge crossover book.
