Chapter 5
Zelda was out in the village square of animal village getting some water from the well as usual. When she suddenly dropped the jar of liquid.
"Ah! No... Link be careful!" she cried out, as she dropped to her knees in agony. Marin and Saria came running to her.
"What's the matter?" Marin asked.
"Are you feeling all right, sister?"
"I just had a terrible vision. I saw Link being torn to shreds by a monster with hideous fangs and a terrible snout. It reminded me of Ganon, but it was not the Prince of Darkness. It was something worse... far, far worse."
"Come rest, Zelda. I'm sure Link is fine."
With that, the three went inside a tiny hut, and laid Zelda down in a bed to rest. ***
Link was on the road back to Animal Village, when he thought of something. Walrus don't eat meat! Oh no! I've been tricked.
"I sense uneasiness..." a voice cried out from the bushes.
"I know that voice..." Link said.
"Of course you do! Welcome back Link! Oh it's good to see you again."
"Nice to see you as well, Crazy Tracy! I seem to be having a sort of dilemma. I need to get past the Walrus at the entrance to Animal Village."
"Do you have an ocarina? If you do, playing Marin's Song will move the beast."
"Of course!" he said as the revelation came to him. "I remember that song! Why didn't I think of this earlier?"
"Your mind was clouded with thoughts of something evil. The owl helped guide you, and I'm sure you will know the entire story of the owl by the end of your quest. But now you must meet your sisters again. Go to animal village. Meet your sisters and continue your quest."
With that, Link traveled the road to Animal Village, not knowing what other dangers he might find. Yet in his mind, he knew that he would see Zelda and Saria again very soon. ***
Ganon smiled happily as his new second-in-command was now torn to pieces by his faithful servant, IronKnuckle.
"Excellent job, my servant. You have done a much better job then that late Moblin character. You shall be my new right-hand man, until Contora is better. Go tell my minions about their daily labors. And if any complain, tell them I'm sending them to the Haunted Wasteland to rot and decay!"
"Completely understood master. Your secret weapon shall be completed by the time Link and his friends return. The power of the Center Power shall be at your fingertips, and not as unreliable as it is now. We shall have it ready in a matter of days. I just received word that all your forces have gathered together, and we our army is ready for when Link arrives."
"You have done well IronKnuckle. Leave me in peace."
"As thou wishes."
He exited the room, his footsteps silent the entire way. ***
Contora had gathered her faithful servants. She wanted to speak to them, but there was a slight problem. The son of Ganondorf was coming…
"Quick get the doctor! And keep it quiet! Ganon must not know about this," Contora said quietly.
"Hurry up!" a Gerudo said silently.
"Now, since the Gerudo mature quickly, we must give him a month, before he is ready to confront Ganon. Then we will be ready to assume the throne. Are you with-?"
There was a low cry as the son of Ganondorf emerged from the Gerudo's body.
"Things are working perfectly. As long as he doesn't know of the child's existence, all will be well."
Contora collapsed from exhaustion, but the baby was alive and well. ***
Link had made his way to the Walrus, and there it was. He took the Ocarina of Courage from around his neck and played Marin's Song. The Walrus hopped up and down, then swiftly dove into the water. Meanwhile, the path to Animal Village was open.
After navigating through a little maze, he came to the entrance of Animal Village. When Zelda and Saria saw him, they came rushing, arms extended, to greet him.
But Link ignored there embraces when they reached him. He was concentrating on only one thing. In the middle of the village square was Marin. And to Link, her voice was the most wonderful thing he had ever heard.
"There's no doubting it," he thought. "She's wonderful."
Saria and Zelda brought him back to Marin's cottage in the village, but he couldn't take his mind off Marin. She was beautiful.
