Zelda's Goodbye

by Christi Sanders

I see you standing now
seven long years older
and I'm amazed at how
you've gotten even bolder

Fear seems not to touch you
I see by how you fight
and I can tell how much you
want to make things right

But it's my turn to mend
you have done your part
back home, you I will send
although it breaks my heart

My thanks for all you've done
I never will forget
whatever you become
I hope you don't regret

Now I must say goodbye
although it hurts me so
to think that you and I
won't again say hello

Go regain your lost time
the way you're meant to be
I know you can't be mine
but please remember me.
