Hylian Items and Artifacts
Hyrule is a land blessed with many mystical treasures that give the bearers strange and often useful powers. Many of these objects are long lost, buried deep within the ancient dungeons and palaces that the entrances to are long forgotton. However their uses are well documented in old Hylian scriptures.
They have aided many an intrepid adventurer on their worthy quests, but in the wrong hands these objects often prove dangerous, for example in the story where Ganondorf took the spiritual stones to open the Door of Time. Others, like the Master Sword can only be handled by those who are indeed worthy of their powers, such as the hero Link.
Carved from gold and inset with a round blue jewel, this magical ring, when worn can double the defensive power of its owner. These are fairly common and sometimes turn up in merchants shops from time to time.
Bombos MedallionAn old amulet made from gold, it has a pattern of swirling flames embossed upon it. It allows the wearer to summon the power of explosions - useful to kill many enemies in a single summoning.
Ether MedallionThis ancient gold talisman is embossed with a lightning strike symbol. However it does not summon storms but rather a powerful bolt of ice that causes everything around it to become frozen solid.
Fire RodThis metal wand has a bright red jewel on the tip which feels warm to the touch. It can fire out projectiles of burning flames.
One of three Spiritual Stones, this sacred jewel is crafted of gold and a large red ruby. It was given to the Goron for safekeeping. It was later crafted into a necklace called the Pendent of Power. Together with the other spiritual stones it holds the key to the Doorway of Time.
Ice RodMade of metal with a cold blue jewel embedded in the tip, this wand can shoot out projectiles of freezing cold ice.
The second of the three Spiritual Stones, this sacred jewel is crafted of gold and a round green emerald. It was given to the Kokiri for safekeeping. It was later crafted into a necklace called the Pendent of Courage. Together with the other spiritual stones it holds the key to the Doorway of Time.
Lens of Truth
A mystical Sheikah object, this special looking glass can see though most illusions and dark magic. No-one is quite sure what the lens is crafted from only that it contains powerful magic.
A robe embued with magical powers, it allows the wearer to become invisible and impervious to harm. However it does cause magical mana to slowly deplete. It is made from a heavy red fabric, edged with gold hylian patterns.
Magic MirrorAlthough this may look like a simple hand mirror, gaze into its depths and it is said that you can travel from the Dark World to the Light World in a manner of seconds. It will leave behind a magical warp point so you can return, if you so wish.
Moon PearlThis milky blue jewel looks simple on the surface and appears to do nothing than look decorative. However it is deceptive and legend states that the bearer of this pearl can keep his true form within the Dark World.
Ocarinas are an important part of Hylian history. These musical devices are capable, not just of playing sweet melodies but can invoke powerful magic that can transport the user through space and even time. Others can call up deities. Important ocarinas include the Ocarina of Time and the Ocarina of Wind.
These specially crafted boots, passed down for generations in an old Hylian family, allow the wearer to dash at very great speeds. Combined with a sword they can assist in a deadly attach against the greatest of foes or clear great distances in a short time.
Quake MedallionAn old amulet crafted from gold, decorated by swirling lines across the center, separating it into two. The owner has the ability to create a great earthquake around them causing the earth to split and rocks to fall from the sky.
Another magical ring, this too is made from gold and contains a round red jewel. It gives the owner quadruples their denfensive power or increases their strength.
Staff of Byrna
This magical cane made of a strange, shiny metal, protects the user from all harm by creating an impenetrable energy field around them. The bearer would need a strong supply of magical mana to wield it, as slowly, it would decrease their reserves in return for the protection it offers.
Staff of Somaria
This wooden rod allows the user, when fired, to create strange blocks of energy that can be used as a platform to stand upon. Only one block can exist at any given time - if the user fires the cane again, the block will disperse.
An ancient treasure of the long lost fish race, the Zora, these flippers give the wearer the ability to swim fast and dive, even in the most dangerous of waters.
Thhe final of the three Spiritual Stones, this sacred jewel is crafted of gold and three blue sapphires. It was given to the Zora for safekeeping. It was later crafted into a necklace called the Pendent of Wisdom. Together with the other spiritual stones it holds the key to the Doorway of Time.
